In recent years, the food brokerage community has been impacted by major industry trends that have resulted in fewer, incredibly larger brokerage companies with client lists averaging in the hundreds, and sales in the billions of dollars. The result is that many clients are finding that their lines are receiving a very low priority in these organizations, and initial promises of dedicated personnel and technology services are becoming reduced over time.

These organizations, while boasting of record sales increases, fail to disclose this is a result of acquisitions and mergers, and have systematically reduced the total number of employees formerly servicing the clients they represent.
